Intuition is a profound part of each of us that has evolved over millions of years. Passed down from generation to generation, our genealogy, lived experiences, and history shape our unique emotional responses and gut instincts. It helps us with decision-making and critical thinking. And while intuitive decision making can be biased or prejudiced (based on religion, culture, social and political environments), it allows our world to be the individual, colourful, creatively special place that it is - creating a raw, real, human experience.
As AI becomes increasingly pervasive, our hard-earned intuition is at greater risk. AI tells us what to watch, how to spell, how to drive to a friend’s house we’ve been to 50 times but can never remember the way. It fills our screens with the inauthentic, the repetitive, and the eye-rollingly predictable ‘AI-slop’. Conversely, from the slop emerges an evolved and sophisticated form of AI-generated content. One that is becoming progressively difficult to distinguish from reality, often leading us to second-guess ourselves.
So how can we preserve this irreplaceable part of our world?
A simple place to start is to slow down and choose. Open up your wardrobe and intuitively decide what you want to wear instead of referring to the perfectly curated outfits on pinterest or social media. Think critically, decide for yourself where to access your news, rather than letting social media algorithmically present it to you. Find original sources and don’t rely on AI overviews. Build your own playlist and go shopping in brick-and-mortar stores. Make mistakes and let yourself learn from them and let others do the same.
How to Strengthen your Intuition

Unplug - the most obvious one yes, but when we aren't looking at screens a whole world opens up & we find ourselves feeling less stressed & less fatigued.
Meditation - however meditation looks for you, this is where insights & ideas are born.
Nature - spending time in fresh air, moving our bodies & connecting with the natural environment gives us that space that we need to tune into our own thoughts & insights.
Breathing - just taking some slow, deep & intentional breaths can work wonders for our stress levels & again in turn, create that much needed space for our intuition to come through in our decision making & creative processes.
Intuition Mist - In aromatherapy, peppermint is said to enhance concentration & clear mental fog but also can help us digest new ideas, it enhances our receptive capacities on mental & spiritual levels & is beneficial for moments of insight. We love using this blend every morning to wake us up & tune in before we begin our day.
Let’s continue to develop and fine-tune our intuitive abilities, deepen our self-trust, and connect with our inner knowing. Let our intuition be a beacon of hope in an ambiguous reality.
