Lover Series: Date Night Guide

We love a good date night at Vessel! Here are four curated variations, each designed for a different mood.

Creative & Joyful

Scent: Euphoria

Album: Al Green - Let's Stay Together

Drink:  Spicy marg / Lime & jalapeño soda (non-alc)

Food: Nachos

Activity: Life drawing. This can be as tame or as spicy as you like. All you'll need is plain paper and a drawing utensil of your choice. Clothed or nude - it's up to you! Take turns posing and drawing one another. Our favourite way to life-draw is with tiered timing: start with a few one-minute poses to loosen up, move into a couple of three-minute poses, then build up to five or ten.

 

Sexy & Passionate

Scent: Lover

Album: Portishead - Dummy

Drink:  Negroni sbagliato / Blood orange soda (non-alc)

Food: Fresh oysters with mignonette and Tabasco

Activity: Begin your night by telling each other the top three things you find sexy about them (doesn't need to be physical). Then it's time for a game of strip poker - or any card game really. The losing hand removes an item of clothing. The twist? Whoever ends up completely naked receives a full-body massage from the winner. Candles are non-negotiable. Phones are banned.

 

Chill & Low-Key

Scent: Peace

Album: Tom Waits - Blue Valentine

Drink:  Gin, lime, cucumber & soda / The same drink minus the gin (non-alc)

Food: Your fav takeaway - no dishes allowed

Activity: Start by getting into your comfies. Then lie down on the floor, drinks in hand, and listen to the album from start to finish... you can sing along, chat, or listen peacefully. There is no pressure to do anything or be a particular way. Afterward, ask your partner to pick a number between 1-100, head to the New York Times Top 100 Films of the 21st Century, and watch whatever you land on. Bonus points for falling asleep on the couch.

 

Deep & Thought-Provoking

Scent: Intuition

Album: Kate Bush - Hounds of Love

Drink:  Natural wine / Kombucha (non-alc)

Food: Mezze platter

Activity: Begin with a metta (loving-kindness) meditation. Then light a candle, pour a drink, and move through these prompts together:

  • Five things you're grateful for in your life
  • Five things you're longing for
  • Three ways your life journey has surprised you
  • Three ways you feel you've changed in the last ten years
  • What love means to you
  • What being a partner means to you
